There's a ferry which comes to and goes from the island, from Dili, each day except Monday.  It's a 3 hour boat ride and costs $5 each way.  Three things on offer along the semi-secluded east-facing beach at Atauro island;
 

>>>   CAMPING (tent provided, or bring your own) Tent site alongside beach. Bathroom on each of two sites.  One site has warm shower available.  The other site is more secluded, with cold shower 6 minute walk away.  Possible campsite cooking available.  Fires allowed.  Small restaurants and small shops (for provisions) nearby.  Bring your own liter bottle of drinking water. 

>>>   TUBING (innertubes provided).  $5 for 1 hour.  $8 half day.  $15 full day rental. 

>>>   WEEKEND 3-DAY SEMINARS / Two per month.  Each starting mid-day Friday, and wrapping up early afternoon Sunday.  Camp facilities included, or you can stay at one of the nearby guest houses.  The first Friday of each month, the seminar focuses on SPIRITUALITY.  The third Friday kicks off the seminar: BOOK AND SONGWRITING.
 
Directions to innertube / tubing rental office:  When you get off the ferry at the concrete pier at Beloi town, Atauro island, catch a pick-up taxi going left (north), toward 'Vila.'  We're 3 km on right side, halfway along the parallel-to-airstrip road.
Directions to camping: Same route, mentioned above, but 1 km further, on left.  This is also where we meet - for those interested in the 3-day weekend seminars.
